Single -use plastic কে বন্ধ করার উদ্দেশ্যে দেশজুড়ে প্রধান মন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র দামোদর মোদী নতুন campaign জাড়ি করেছে। আগামী ১লা জানুয়ারি,২০২২ সালের মধ্যে 120 micron বিশিষ্ট single-use plastic এবং 240 micron পুরু প্লাস্টিক ব্যাগ সম্পূর্ণ ভাবে নিষিদ্ধ করার সিন্ধান্ত গ্রহন করা হয়েছে। public domain এ government এর এই উদ্দেশ্যকে সাধারণ মানুষের judgemental রায়ের উদ্দেশ্যে 60 দিনের জন্য upload করার ও সিন্ধান্ত ও গ্রহন করা হয়েছে। এর পরবর্তী ধাপে এই নীতিটিকে gagut notification এর মাধ্যমে সমগ্র দেশে চালু করা হবে।
শুধু মাত্র তাই নয়, ইতিমধ্যে এইবছর ফেব্রুয়ারি মাসেই প্রধানমন্ত্রী single -use plastic কে band করার উদ্দেশ্যে meeting organize করেছে। পুরাতন তথ্য অনুসারে, 50 micron পুরু plastic ব্যাগ গুলিকে ভারত ও অন্যান্য অনেক দেশ band করে দিয়েছে। এই mission কে আরও ভালভাবে কার্যকরী করার উদ্দেশ্যে government এর তরফ থেকে কিছু rules এবং regulations কে implement করা প্রয়োজন। তার কিছু নীচে বর্নিত করা হল -
1) single use plastic manufacturing company গুলির production level কে কমিয়ে আনতে হবে।
2) single use plastic এর মূল্যবৃদ্ধি করতে হবে এবং পাশাপাশি environment friendly materials কে স্বপ্লমূল্যে বিশেষত, কোন প্রকার product কেনার সঙ্গে পারলে free দেবার ব্যবস্থা করতে হবে।
3) single use plastic, one time use এর বদলে multiple times ব্যবহার যাতে করা যায় তার ব্যবস্থা করতে হবে।
4) প্লাস্টিক এর recycling পদ্ধতিকে ব্যপক আকারে প্রচলন করতে হবে এবং recycling এর জন্য plastic collection এর উপরেও নজরদারি করতে হবে যাতে বিক্ষিপ্তভাবে পরে থাকা প্লাস্টিক সঠিকস্থানে পৌঁছায়।
5) প্লাস্টিক এর পরিবর্তে অন্য substitute industry কে facilities প্রদান করতে হবে।
6) এখন পর্যন্ত যেহেতু সেরকম plastic এর alternative material নেই তাই scientist দের কে এ বিষয়ে research করার উদ্দেশ্যে উৎসাহ প্রদান করতে হবে।
7) নতুন technological innovation আনতে হবে যাতে already যে ব্যবহার্য প্লাস্টিক রয়েছে তাকে নতুনভাবে modifications করে সঠিক কার্যে ব্যবহার করা যায়।
বর্তমানে সমীক্ষার report অনুসারে, একটি প্লাস্টিকের production, আগামী 200 বছর তার life cycles কে বজায় রাখে। এমনকি প্রতি বছরে প্রায় 10 লাক্ষ used bottle ফেলে দেওয়া হয়। এর পাশাপাশি প্রায় ৮০ টন used plastic প্রতিবছর মহাসমুদ্রের তলদেশেসঞ্চিত হয় যার মধ্যে প্রায় 50% ই হল single-use plastic। এই প্লাস্টিকের প্রভাবে প্রতিবছর প্রায় 11 লাক্ষ সামুদ্রিক প্রানীর মৃত্যু ঘটে। তাই এই পদ্ধতি ক্রমান্বয়ে চলতে থাকলে 2050 সাল পর্যন্ত সমুদ্রে মাছের পরিমাণের থেকেও প্লাস্টিকের পরিমান বেশী হবে।
এই পরিস্থিতিতে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর এই পদক্ষেপ নিঃসন্দেহে খুবই প্রশংসনীয় বিষয়। পরিবেশকে সঠিক, সুন্দর ও সুস্থ রাখার উদ্দেশ্যে government এর পাশাপাশি সাধারণ মানুষকে ও সচেতন হতে হবে তা হলেই আমরা আমাদের আগামী প্রজন্মকে সুস্থ পরিবেশে আলিঙ্গন করতে পারব।

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a new campaign across the country to ban single-use plastic. It has been decided to completely ban 120-micron single-use plastic and 240 micron thick plastic bags by January 1, 2022. 1) The production level of single use plastic manufacturing companies should be reduced.
2) The price of single use plastic should be increased and also environment friendly materials should be given free of cost, especially with the purchase of any type of product.
3) Instead of single use plastic, one time use, multiple times should be used so that it can be used.
4) The method of recycling of plastics should be introduced in a large scale and the collection of plastic for recycling should also be monitored so that the scattered plastics reach the right place.
5) Facilities should be provided to other substitute industries instead of plastics.
6) Since so far there is no alternative material for such plastic, so scientists should be encouraged to do research in this regard.
7) New technological innovation has to be brought so that the already used plastic can be used in the right way by making new modifications.
According to the current survey report, the production of a plastic, maintains its life cycles for the next 200 years. Even about 10 lakh used bottles are thrown away every year. In addition, about 60 tons of used plastic is stored in the ocean floor each year, of which about 50% is single-use plastic. The effects of this plastic cause the death of about 11 lakh marine animals every year. So if this process continues, by 2050 the amount of plastic will be more than the amount of fish in the sea.
In this situation, the Prime Minister's move is undoubtedly very commendable. In order to keep the environment proper, beautiful and healthy, the government as well as the common people must be aware so that we can embrace our next generation in a healthy environment.
